| Recently we got a pair of laotriton and i kindly ask your advices and assitance into settle it and accomodate in captivity. It's adult pair and looks not very good (compairing our P. guangxiensis), not very much fed before but in average not bad condition. They are now in the clean aqarium without substratum in water level around 10-12 cm. I fed them couple of times with earthworms but they seems like not like them very much. What else is a good food for them? Do you advice to keep them for some time like this (and if so, for how long itme) or shall i make them constant aquarium with substratum and plants? Please, advice! | |

| Hello tritonman! thanks for the link. i read the article, part 2 as well and some other materials too. I put the aquarium pump today so the oxigen level is up.. and add some guppy fishes. we'll see will they eate them or not. temperature is 19-20 C. A bit raise of water. Do you suggest put them into constant tank with plants, substratum etc? | |

| Hi tritonman! I do not accept your suggestion I myself found them very interesting and beautiful. I rehoused them into 120 l tank with gravel, an air pump and filter which gave a good stream and they looks very happy Just need to put some aquatic plants except javan moss i placed in. I also manage to make a hiding place on the bottom made of rocks and they do utilize it readily. | |

| Each animal must find his place as all Paramesotriton. Plants with broad sheets it's for reproduction, It's not an obligation. | |

| Hello!
You seem like not right there... Unlike all other Paramesotriton spp, these are quite tolerant to each other and do not show nay agression. And mine do utilize the hide together without any problems.

| It's very difficult to maintain many pairs together, males are very aggressive. tell me your experience with Paramesotriton, because I maintained P.chinensis, hongkongensis. I didn't see pairs of caudopunctatus and guanxiensis in captivity ( I have many larvae). If you have some advice to give me! | |

| Hello dear tritonman!
I do not have experience with keeping Parames in groups of several pairs, but to keep them in male+ several females is seem like not a problem. I can tell that guangxiensis male readily strike females in the enclosure but there were no any harm to them for 1 year i keep them now. I also have maintain 3 females hk newts without males (hope i will got couple of males this year) and they do live in peace. As for the lao's a pair live peacefully as i may see it and according to different source they even do not have show any aggression males to males (if i understand it right). BTW. In Vietnam i have found guangxiensis in groups in streams.
